Madam it is alright

My recent visit to Kanpur, was huge eye opener to me. I have been living away from home town for a very long time. This was a privileged visit with Taxi door to door. I found changes and I found same things as well. And honestly ate just way too much good food, specially sweets & Chat.. Yumm...(Flavours still crackling in my mouth)
I met quite a few locals, from different walk in life. The most interesting part of with a cab driver. He was dropping me to Airport early in morning. In those 2 hours I had huge realization. the most shocking was belief of a man who is representing not only an income group but also an educated community. So the conversation was about perception of govt.
According to a well read person, who is graduate, driving a good car making at least 15,000/- for his profits alone. Having ideas of what are next development in the city and so forth, was very impressive to me. So I initiated the conversation on his view on current UP government.
According to him, it is alright for a government to recruit 50 people under govt. services and eat up 5 times corruption money. It shook me with what is troubling the common man of this country. I am not an economist to guess, the common man needs bread to eat and home to sleep. Nothing fancy, the common man does not have wisdom of knowing what corruption is doing to them, but they want some hope.
Unlike most of the men I meet in UP he was very rational, so i tried to make a point for which he had to say Madam j it is okie. Paisa khaya 4 gunna par kaam to karke diya na. Haan samay laga but kaam to kiya.
Now I became speechless because what can you counter this with.
My dear common man, no it is not okie, if Government any official eats up your development money, that is what gives you road, electricity and reasons of industries of all nature to grow. I wonder if our colleges will ever explain this, blogs will talk about it.
But for common man till his house is clean he is happy, till his plate is full he is contended.
Nothing will change accept his future generations plate & no house for them.
Just inquisitive on many things... It is not OKIE.
